2010/fashion,

And where is the "Islamic"?

‘Islamic Fashion Festival’ started in 2006 and it has being spreat to Jakarta, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and New York.

The Islamic Fashion Festival is precisely intended to end the myth that a Muslim woman cannot posses a sense of style. On the contrary, Islamic dressing is a style of its own, and today it is beginning to attract more and more attention, as mainstream trends become increasingly bold, sensual and provocative which is unappealing to the more conservative consumers,” said Rosmah Mansur, the first lady of Malaysia.
write something in Arabic in any gown and there it is!, You have created Islamic Fashion!

----So call me "Conservative" but how something "bold sensual and provocative" can be Islamic fashion??, I really think this first lady should learn what Islam means and what are the code of dress for Muslims, Am I wrong?

On IFF, she said its main mission was to capitalise on fashion as a platform to bring together designers and fashion enthusiasts of different cultures, religious backgrounds and race to bring Islamic Couture into the mainstream of style and fashion.

Ok I'm lost (wt...) Where is the "Islamic" in this model?

----They did brought designers (around 100 designers since this started) from different cultures, religious backgrounds and race to bring whattttt??, Islamic Couture, sorry but I really don't think this was necessary, Islam is not a fashion, and if it were, how comes that non-Muslim designers can understand what Islam orders and make it attractive to all those non-Muslims women around the world?

Islamic fashion is fast becoming a lucrative business with the current market estimated to be worth more than US$96 billion a year.

----This is why Islamic fashion in recent years has become popular and trendy, lets take some Arab styles and incorporate them in a western clothes and there we have our Islamic "Trendy" not 100% Muslim (for those who suffer of Islamophobia) that can be worn for all kind of people and lets make business and win billions every year.

The global Muslim population comprises one of the fastest-growing consumer markets in the world, hence representing a major growth opportunity for businesses around the globe, including in the fashion sector,”

----Are they using us??, I mean in fact some of the richest countries in all the world are Muslim countries, then they come with their original European Brands to this Arab countries and sale what they don't in a hole year in Europe in only few months.

This recent interest in Muslim fashion signals the changing dynamics of the ever-increasing interaction among Eastern and Western cultures. Nowadays, Muslim women can choose from a broad selection of designs to create a look that matches their values, traditions and tastes, without compromising any of the three.

----Question? Are this designs really matching our values, traditions and what do they know about our tastes btw?

In my opinion this is the only model that you can say in some way that follow the Islamic dress code.

2010/fashion,

jewellery and make up in a Pakistani weadding

Usually when you hear about India you also hear about Pakistan, they share a lot of traditions and styles.
If we talk about fashion, and wedding traditions we can't see a big difference between them, in Pakistan for example, an Islamic country located in South Asia and the Greater Middle East, has a great culture with rich customs. A Pakistani wedding is a great feast of fun, merriments, and celebrations. It is celebrated with great fervor. A Pakistani wedding is followed by several pre-wedding customs and rituals.

Some of the customs followed in Pakistani weddings have no foundation in Islam. However, the Pakistani culture has adopted those ceremonies and traditions from the Hindu culture.

In Pakistan there is no greater event in a family than a wedding.

Bridal Dresses in Pakistan today have a lot of work done on them. Zari, embroidery, organza, zardozi, sequins, cut work, mirror work, patchwork, pearl work, are all different kinds of work, which beautify the bridal suit. Pakistani wedding dresses can range from a few thousand to a few lac rupees.

Bridal Makeup is given also much more importance. No matter what an Pakistani bride wears, she does look like a living doll, decorated on her special day. This Special Bridal Makeup is matched with the shade of the dress colour, so that the brides glows more than any one in the ceremony.

Bridal Jewellery has become necessary bridal item in Pakistani weddings. Gold jewellery is used on wedding day, including heavy neckless, rings, bracelets, and bangles.

hijab,

Angelina Jolie in Hijab

Well as we all know Angelina Jolie a Goodwill Ambassador of the United Nations visited the Pakistan's flood victims and according to this article She wasn't happy with the attitude of the authorities and the government who were more interested in trying to please her while pushing the flood victims, what a Shame!

She is pretty no doubt of it and this blue colors makes her even prettiest, Is strange the way her veins looks on her arms, looks like an old women, probably because she is so thin ?

The first thing that I noticed was how beautiful she looks in Hijab, she has a scandalous past, but I think since she began with the work as ambassador she had realised how grateful we should be with Allah for all what we have in this life,She has become a very simple woman, she use not expensive products, I read once she use a $12 usd body cream and she doesn't eat more (some say she is anorexic)this in her own words is due to the non- appetite she feel and more now that she had seen all this kids starving, no doubt, she is one of the powerful actresses in Hollywood, and has the envy of all women because she is Brad pit's couple, has 6 kids, etc, etc.

Avery simple and beautiful hijab, notice that when you are not used to wear hijab or you live in a hot weather country the best is choose one in natural fabrics like this one, I think is made of Caftan fabric.
Good or bad I hope one day she turn her interest into Islam Insha'allah, for now here some pics of her with hijab, a very simple style, I think in my personal opinion she even wear it better than we Muslims.

hijab,

So... you wear hijab.....

We claim to be Muslims, and not just that, we are "Good Muslims" because we do wear hijab, but sadly for more of us, hijab is only a head piece that complement our "Look", why?, Well because we don't even know why we must to do it, and a very important thing How we should wear it?

The New Fashion Trends in Hijab are: "Make your Hijab as a Hair do", Am I wrong?, look at this pics:

The scarf simulates the hair in a pony tale, you also see her neck .
This is like if you have only a bandana with a long and free hair, again we can see the neck.

And again the blue veil simulates a long and free hair the under scarves like a normal bandana.

Having not enough with that and thanks to the new growing of the Arab countries like UEA, the "Fashion" in the Whole world is adopting the "Arab" style, and now Muslims from other countries are trying to imitate the "Look" of those "Rich" (but with the credit card on the limit) women who use to wear a Camel Hump to stylish what they think is a "Hijab".

Khaleeji style which I love but to achieve this look some women use a flower claw clip to simulate again long hair, you can make this pretty style without the need of the clip and only if you need a little bit of volume to balance your head shape with your shoulders and body use an other scarf in the normal way and above this use the shayla, you will have a real look with out the hump of camel.
Turkish style, and I love this colors but I think is toooooo much!
You can have this look with a full under scarf, avoid the fake Bun, and add a bandana (New Bandana collection from Muslim Elegance coming Soon!) and it's done.
Some women also buy some kind of "hats" to create the illusion of having a long hair in a Bun.
Syrian Style is pretty much the same simulating a long hair in a bun.

There is a Hadith that states: Abu Hurairah narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be on him) said. "I will not be a witness for two types of people who are destined for the Fire: people with whips, like the tails of cows, who beat the people (ie, tyrannical rulers who are the enemies of their own people), and women who, although clothed, are yet naked, seducing and being seduced, their hair styled like the tilted humps of camels. These will not enter the Garden nor will its fragrance even reach them, although its fragrance reaches a very great distance. (Reported by Muslim).

although there is not yet an agreement on how high this " Hump of Camel" should be, we can quote an other Hadith:
On the authority of Al-Hasan bin Ali, the grandson of the messenger of Allah, who said : I memorized from the messenger of Allah his saying :"Leave that which makes you doubt for that which does not make you doubt.At-Tirmidhi

Then if we still don't know how high this can be then why we take the risk and do it?.

I had promised a second part of Hijab; choosing the right one for you, but while I was searching I found this Hadith that made me realise how wrong will I be If I post a Hijab that doesn't follow the "Rules", then I found that the new "Trends" are getting "Higher", the Hijabs now days, are more a "Hair do" than a Hijab.

One of the reason to wear hijab is to cover our hair and we are supposed to not show how long is our hair when wearing hijab, there are women who had even bought accessories that makes the fake look of having a hight pony tale,or use other scarves to give this effect, but then are we only choosing from the Hadits and form the Quran what make us happy or what we like?, then, what is the difference between a Muslim and a Non-Muslim?.

There are a lot of thins that we can use to make our Hijab pretty without broke the "Rules", is always recommendable to use a Full Under Scarf which will cover all your head, neck and don't forget the ears, with the use of the full under scarf you have many options to stylish your Hijab.
This is the most simple and beautiful style, with only a full under scarf and an square or an oblong scarf.

Some times due to the shape of our head we kind of look "Strange" with the Hijab, but this could be because we are wearing a style not suitable for us, if you have long hair make a pony tale in the low part of your head and neck, not in the middle of the back of your head, this will give you volume and prevents you to have this hump of camel, also if you head shape is not circle enough and it looks like some one has shaved the half of your back head, then use an other hijab under it, in the classic style, and above it use the hijab you want for that day, if you are concerned about the hot weather, use always natural fabrics like cotton as background.
The use of "Bandanas" are an other option to stylish your hijab, you can also combine more than one color.
