Dubai downturn and Swarovski crystals

10:21 PM that's me 2 Comments

If you thought economic upheaval would have pruned people's interest in ornamentation, frivolity of fashion or delight in surface sheen with seemingly no function, you need to think again. Now, more than ever, trend forecasters tell us, people are willing and eager to embrace all that is escapist, whimsical and joyous - be it in films, fashion or home decor.

"Even in a downturn, people want to dress up and look good," says Werner Baumgartner, managing director, Swarovski Middle East. Baumgartner should know, because he is the man responsible for turning the abaya into a sparkling fashion statement, thus establishing Swarovski's most important business segment in the Middle East. "And fashion has not been hit as badly as some of the big projects we were working on in the design field".

So with vertical markets such as architectural lighting hit by the downturn, is fashion going to be a key focus for the company this year? "Our focus has shifted now from big projects to individual homes. People still have a lot of money in this region and are interested in doing up their homes."

Baumgartner says that when it comes to interiors, the company is still "learning to walk" compared to its century-old association with the fashion industry which started with haute couture icons like Coco Chanel. "We are currently in the process of finding big design names in the region who we could approach to come up with concepts and ideas in the application of crystals," he says.

Swarovski comprises two major businesses: one producing and selling loose elements to the industry while the other, established in the mid-1970s, uses these same elements to create finished crystal products, jewellery, fashion accessories, objects and homewares, sold through a global network of over 1,150 Swarovski stores.

The crystal components, known by their product brand names Crystallized - Swarovski Elements for fashion and Strass Swarovski Crystal for architecture and light, have become an essential ingredient of international design.

Today, Swarovski's lighting systems combine modern lighting ideas, such as fibre optics and LEDs with the mood-enhancing qualities of cut crystal. Their current portfolio includes down-lights, recessed spotlights, shimmering starry sky ceilings and illuminated crystal panels.

"In newer segments like interiors, customers may not know about us yet. We come up with ideas and then approach companies that are the best fit. Swarovski crystal elements have become a glamorous ingredient in furniture, fabrics, wallpaper, bathrooms and accessories."

losing weight

How much weight are you losing while you clean the home?

1:41 AM that's me 0 Comments

The number of calories you need per day depends on your basal metabolic rate and on the number of calories you burn through physical activity.

If you want to maintain your weight, you need to burn the same number of calories per day as you consume. To lose weight, you need to burn more calories than you consume, while to gain, you need to consume more calories than you burn.

Just the acts of breathing, circulating blood through the body,
growing and repairing cells, and digesting food require fuel. The number of calories your body uses to accomplish just these things is called your basal metabolic rate. For most people, these basic processes account for most of the calories you burn every day. Any physical activity, from cleaning the house to going for a jog, burns calories above and beyond this basic amount.

11:20 PM that's me 2 Comments

let's have a little fun after my last two post about full people, here is some beautifull wedding dresses from Dubai:

Aren't they gorgeous, all that embroidered decorations and what about the brooches?...

And now some other party dresses styles from Kuwait:

and all wedding requires a place where all family members and friends will be together and celebrate the big occasion, here are some examples of the wedding decoration direct from the Arab World:

This is the place where the couple stay during the wedding, all the guests will be sited at front of them and during the celebration will go to congratulate them and to take pictures with them.

This place could be used during the marriage celebration with the sheh.

and what about the buffet?....OK here are some examples
doesn't looks delicious...Arabs love all sweet things!
What I have noticed (and because is obvious) during this years in Egypt and in contact with this magnificent Arab World is how they are very careful in any little detail, all the decorations, embroidery, ornaments, etc, are meticulously detailed, all this makes the guests feel like in a fare tale and make all be in harmony and peace during the celebrations, I hope you have enjoyed.

I'm getting tired of all those emails about Islam and the scandalous uses of this religion and etc etc.
When in fact they are made for people who actually hates and want to fight Islam, and in this fight they use all the dirty resources they can use, doesn't matter if they have to lie and distortion the true to achieve their purpose ...
the last one was for one of my friends in Mexico and (I really don't know why?...she only send it to my....some one any idea??) this mail was about a massive Muslim marriage in Gaza....
and they add in the tittle Scandalous!!! ; I received it in Spanish but here is from where they took this information.

Mass Muslim Marriage
450 Grooms Wed GIRLS Under Ten In Gaza
by Paul L. Williams, Ph.D. (thelastcrusade.org)

Let me tell you this is a bushit, I watched this news on Al-jazeera when it happened and I never haired about little kids getting married with old man..........and about the bushit that Prophet Mohammad got married with Aisha when she was only a little girl: Where in the Coran or the Hadisses says that?.........I have searched about that and there is nothing in the true hadisses (confirmed that they are true or really happened) about that..........any way, as I was saying, this man put pictures of little kids on white dresses holding their hands with guys walking on the streets.......and he says this are the brides and the guys are their brooms.WTF, this man is just selling his books, and that's why he writes about anything again Islam.

Now this is an extract of one article from The new york times ,published on October,30,2008 By TAGHREED EL-KHODARY

to view full article click here

"Hamas leaders have turned to matchmaking, bringing together single fighters and widows, and providing dowries and wedding parties for the many here who cannot afford such trappings of matrimony.

“Marriage is the same as jihad,” or holy war, said Muhammad Yousef, one recently married member of the Qassam Brigades, the Hamas underground. “With marriage, you are producing another generation that believes in resistance.”

About 300 Qassam members, mostly in their 20s, signed up with their new wives for the most recent celebration.........." (I'm not with or against Hamas, but I think this was a very good thing)

Here is an other from The Palestine Telegraph

Hamas holds collective marriage ceremony
Friday, 10 July 2009 17:37 Added by PT Editor Pal Tel Admin .
Gaza, July 10, (Pal Telegraph) - One hundred Gaza widows - veiled, wearing long black dresses and gloves - celebrated their second marriages on Friday in a mass wedding arranged by Palestinian Islamic movement Hamas, which rules the Gaza Strip. The 100 women, many of them mothers, lost their husbands during the 22-day Israeli military offensive carried out on the impoverished enclave.

According to human rights groups based in Gaza, around 1,450 Palestinians, most of them women and children, were killed in the offensive that ended January 18.

None of the 100 men, some getting married for the first time, or 100 women were older than 25, and all were dressed in black and loyal to Hamas.

They were accompanied at the mass ceremony by their relatives, friends and their children - the daughters wore white dresses, while the sons wore black suits.

Many of the bridegrooms, who received 2,800 dollars from Hamas in recognition of their marrying a widow, are taking on another wife, and a majority of the men are brothers-in-law of the widows, the late husbands being Hamas militants killed in the Israeli invasion.

Ahmed al-Fayoomi, a 22-year-old former single, proudly said he decided to marry his brother Alla's 24-year-old wife Sabrin because 'according to our Islamic rules as well as to our traditions, I believe I'm the one who should take care of my brother's wife and their children.'

Alla, who died in the conflict, left behind seven children, he said.

Mohamed Taha, 23 years old, also married his brother's wife Iman, who is one year older than he. 'Because I love my brother so much, who is now a martyr, I decided to take care of his wife and his only child.'

One young man, Jibril al-Na'ooq, 20, married the 25-year-old wife of his dead uncle, and thus taking on the care of his two young cousins.

A widow from the city of Khan Younis who declined to give her name said 'today I'm getting married to the brother of my martyr husband. I am so happy for this marriage.'

'I feel that my husband is resting in peace now because his brother will take care of me and my children,' she added, speaking out from the black veil that revealed only her green eyes.

People without any kind of information about what Islam is, believe in this lies and when you show them the other side(the true one) they don't want to listen, is better to believe that Islam and Muslims are Terrorist...with this kind of toughs they feel comfortable and they feel their religion is better and that they are right and have the reason on their side...while I was answering to mi friend this mail she sign in on her messenger and I spoke with her but she doesn't give me more time to explain to her what is really happening here, she told me she had to go to take lunch, so, OK I understood ....but the prove was there and I made here see it.

So,please once again when you receive any kind of information, check first the resource from where it was taken, and confirm that is actually true...just then you can make your own judgement of what is or not true.

Islam,

why people fight Islam????

10:19 PM that's me 0 Comments

when I married my husband I was catholic, and my husband and I used to have this conversations about religion, we always tried to defend our religion against the other, so here is when my husband started to speak things about the bible and Catholicism that I don't even known about, then, that makes me search for more information about it and for things that me as a Catholic, should know about it, but instead of being more convinced to defend my religion I started to be more ....................lets called confused...and why?...because what "El honey"(I call my husband like that) was saying about it was actually true, and believe me ,I make a good research about all(I was studding science and I really use to make a scientific research and I like to be sure about all)then I began to look at him, he always looks convinced that Allah is the only one who has the power over all us, and the only one who can change things, and so many things that only when you have the opportunity to live among Muslims you can appreciate the difference between the "life full of freedom" and a "life whit the real happiness".

When I wasn't Muslim I had never thought about have kids not even get married,(maybe just live with my couple but with out compromise).....does it sound to you familiar??
this is the kind of thoughts that non Muslims have, the freedom is what all want...

I can tell you that since I'm Muslim I really change my list of important things in my life and now that I'm mom, I tray to be more responsible human being and really fear Allah, when I speak with my friends or family I can see who I was because I saw them and listening them speak ,I can see my self in the past and I'm not proud of it.

Now I like to read about Islam and every time I come inside a web page where the suppose intellects in religion matters try to explain why Islam is not a god religion and bla bla bla, I get angry because other people read that, and believe it with out really probe that what they are Reading is really true (you can see an example here) all fear Islam because that makes to the non Muslims feel how wrong they are, every time they see a woman covered or a men how really respect his wife and family; it makes me remember when one time some one said to el honey that one woman try to literally have oral sex with him at work, she took down the zipper of his pants when he was working with people in front him so he will can't move because the people will see him.......this woman had planned well so that he could do nothing...but he actually refused it and nothing happened) so, they tray to corrupt the others, they want to make all be wrong as they are ,then in tis way they will can't feel that they are wrong , bacause all then are wrong, but if something good is beside someting wrong or bad, then you can really see the difference...and maybe that's what scare them and makes them fight in any way Islam and Muslims.............
